Molton Brown was originally formed in London in 1973, and remain one of the best-known luxury British brands to this day. The company initially began life as a hair salon, and over the years, has gradually changed to become one of the country’s most celebrated suppliers of high-end toiletries. The name came from a fusion of South Molton Street, where the first store was opened, and Browns, a boutique store owned by the founder, Caroline Burnstein’s parents.

British Heritage

Although the company was bought by Japanese cosmetics firm KAO in 2005, the brand still remains committed to retaining its essentially British personality. This is why the company has kept its original logo as a mark of its origins, and is also recognised as ‘Supplier of Toiletries’ to HM The Queen.

Although one of the best loved British luxury brands, Molton Brown are not afraid to experiment with exotic ingredients and source their materials from across the globe. They were recently awarded the Leaping Bunny logo, to certify that none of their products are tested on animals.

Luxury British Brand

Molton Brown are as much known for their iconic packaging as they are their range of luxury toiletries. Their transparent bottles enable customers to see the brightly coloured bath foams, hand washes and shower gels inside, which makes them instantly recognisable. Their range includes a wide variety of luxury toiletries, including shampoos, conditioners, body scrubs, soaps, hand lotions, fragrances and a range specifically for men.

Many of their products are also arranged by ‘collection’ according to their key ingredients, including Pink Pepperpod, Oudh Accord & Gold and Gingerlily.

Known Across the World

Although Molton Brown are now a worldwide brand, and can be found in some of the highest quality 5* hotels in the world, they still remain resolutely British in nature, and every product is still blended in London.
